What is a Metrologist or what did you do at work today?

This definition is taken from the "Dictionary of Occupational Titles", an official guidebook produced by the Employment and Training Administration of the US Department of Labor.

"Develops and evaluates calibration systems that measure characteristics of objects, substances, or phenomena, such as length, mass, time, temperature, electric current, luminous intensity and derived units of physical or chemical measure. Identifies magnitude of error sources contributing to uncertainty of results to determine reliability of measurement process in quantitative terms. Redesigns or adjusts measurement capability to minimize errors. Develops calibration methods and techniques based on principles of measurement science, technical analysis of measurement problems and accuracy and precision requirements. Directs engineering, quality and laboratory personnel in design, manufacture, evaluation and calibration of measurement standards, instruments and test systems to insure selection of approved instrumentation. Advises others on methods of resolving measurement problems and exchanges information with other metrologist personnel through participation in government and industrial standardization committees and professional societies."

How long will it take to get my order?

Shipping time is product dependant. Many items ship from stock but items such as custom plug or ring gages may take anywhere from a week to six weeks. Major equipment may be as long as six weeks. When you place your order or quotation request we will respond with the delivery by item.

When does Angrave charge my credit card?

Your card will be authorized upon receipt of the order but will not be charged until your order is shipped.

What will my order cost to ship?

UPS:
Small products ship by UPS Ground as our standard shipping. Overnight Red or Two Day Blue shipping is available as are several other UPS shipping options. You may make your selection from the Website during the order process.

Common Carrier:
Surface plates and large equipment ship by common carrier. Final shipping price will vary depending on the warehouse we ship from. When you place your order or quotation request we will respond with the shipping costs. Unless otherwise stated, freight and shipping fees will be charged for shipments to a customer´s place of business anywhere in the contiguous United States, using a carrier of our choice. Other terms apply to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and export orders. Any extra charges incurred for additional services, such as customer´s carrier or special handling by the carrier, must be paid by the consignee. Items backordered from an order qualifying for prepaid shipping charges will be shipped prepaid. Title and risk of loss pass to the customer upon tender of shipment to the carrier. If product is damaged in transit, consignee must file claim with the carrier.

Angrave Limited Warranty and Return Policy

LIMITED WARRANTY: All products sold are warranted by Angrave Metrology and Supply only to customers for resale or for use in business or original equipment manufacture, against defects in workmanship or material under normal use for one year after date of purchase from Angrave, unless otherwise stated, or as stated on the original manufacturers warranty. Any part which is determined by Angrave to be defective in material or workmanship and returned to Angrave or an authorized service location, as Angrave designates, shipping costs prepaid, will be, as the exclusive remedy, repaired or replaced, at Angrave´s option

Angrave sells products to the customers for (i) resale, or (ii) use in business, government or original equipment manufacture. The warranties set forth above apply to the sale of such products. Possession of, or access to, any Angrave catalog, literature or websites does not constitute the right to purchase from Angrave . Angrave reserves the right to correct publishing errors. Return authorization APPROVAL IS required. Unauthorized returns will be sent back at buyers expense. All returns must be received by us within 30 days of customers receipt of materials. Please notify us immediately if an error has occured or if the product is damaged or defective. We reserve the right to determine if the purchaser has abused the item in question. Custom orders cannot be returned under any circumstances. Claims must be started within 5 days of receipt of goods. Restocking and/or return shipping charges may apply.

Angrave will make a good faith effort for prompt correction or other adjustment with respect to any product which proves to be defective within warranty period. Before returning any product write or call Angrave giving date and number of original invoice and describing defect.

No Warranties to Consumers: Angrave makes no warranties to those defined as consumers in the Magnuson-Moss Warranty-Federal Trade Commission Improvement Act.

What forms of payment do you accept?

For customers with established credit, terms are net thirty (30) days from date of shipment. At Angrave´s option, export orders may be subject to special export payment terms and conditions. If credit is not established, please include payment with order or purchase through Visa, MasterCard, or American Express. Cash or anticipation discounts are not allowed. All payments must be in U.S. dollars. Angrave shall have the right of set-off and deduction for any sums owed. If customer fails to make payment within thirty (30) days, Angrave may defer shipments until such payment is made, or may, at its option, cancel all or any part of unshipped order.

Sales Tax, Duties, Import Fees: Angrave is required to charge national, state, local tax, applicable duties, and import fees on products for which the customer has not provided valid exemption certification. The customer assumes responsibility for, and unconditionally guarantees payment or reimbursement of, all applicable taxes, fees, licenses, import duties, and fees and licenses, and expenses as may be applicable. When ordering, the customer shall indicate clearly which products are tax exempt.

Complete Agreement: The terms and conditions in Angrave´s forms, acknowledgments, quotations, invoices, Websites, and catalog sales terms and conditions are incorporated herein by reference, and constitute the entire and exclusive agreement between the customer and Angrave.

What is your policy for order acceptance and cancellation?

Angrave´s acceptance of any order is subject to the customer´s assent to all of the terms and conditions set forth in Angrave´s acknowledgment, and the customer´s assent to these terms and conditions shall be presumed from the customer´s receipt of Angrave´s acknowledgment, or from the customer´s acceptance of all or any part of the goods or services ordered. If a purchase order or other correspondence contains terms or conditions contrary to the terms and conditions contained in Angrave´s acknowledgment, Angrave´s acceptance of any order shall not be construed as assent to any additional terms and conditions, nor will that constitute a waiver by Angrave of any of the terms and conditions contained in Angrave´s acknowledgment.

The customer acknowledges that no order shall be deemed accepted unless and until it is verified and accepted by Angrave Metrology and Supply Company. The customer further consents that submission of its order shall subject the customer to the jurisdiction of the federal courts of the United States and of the State of Connecticut.

Any cancellation must be approved by Angrave and may be subject to restocking and other charges.
